Can I ride the wheelchair ramp if I have problems stepping onto the bus?

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1992 mandates that for whatever reason, if a rider can not use the steps into the vehicle, that the wheelchair lift be provided as a means to embark onto the bus.  Each lift has support handles that you can use.  However, under no circumstances can a driver or passenger assistance helper ride the wheelchair lift with you.

Can I schedule riders for other people?

It is best if you let other people in your party call and schedule their own trip.  An exception to this procedure would be when there are multiple riders from the same pickup location, going to the same destination.  Then we would only need to know the names of the riders, and how the trip who the trip would be paid for.

How do I cancel a scheduled trip?
If for any reason you determine that you no longer need the trip, simply call the office on our toll-free number 1-888-287-7190, and tell the Reservation Agent that you no longer need the trip.  In this manner we can use the trip for another rider.  It is the right thing to do!

Don't be a "No Show"
When a rider schedules a trip and then does not call us to cancel the trip prior to the vehicle arriving at the riders pickup location, this is considered a "Now Show"  Our computerized database tracks each "No Show"   A record of  is maintained of each occurrence for each client and this information is tracked weekly, monthly, and annually. Geauga County Transit has a policy that can restrict access to the system for a rider with excessive "No Shows" over a specific period of time.

Each trip that is not cancelled takes away a trip from someone else.  It also increases the cost of doing business in drivers wages, fuel and lost time.  Think about how you would feel if you drove 20 miles to pickup a friend and they were not there!  Then you had to turn around and drive to another 20 miles back home!  It is the same for Geauga County Transit.  We have to travel to the pickup location, determine that the rider is not there, then travel to our next pickup or drop off location.  Please don't be a "No Show"
